Carbon Harvest began as an explorative program under the auspices of Co-operate WNC's mutual aid network, amplifying the connection between climate resilience, cooperative economics, land access and racial and economic equity. We worked with Mari Stuart for over a year as coordinator and researcher for the program. Mari has since departed Co-operate WNC and is pursuing this work independently.

You can find her program here.

Carbon Harvest:

Community-Powered Regenerative Farming for WNC

The Mission:

Bringing farmers, eaters and climate-responsible organizations together around healthy soils and regeneratively farmed food.

How it works

  • Contact us for a free “good fit” call

  • Fill out a short questionnaire

  • If a farm is selected, we visit the farm and walk the land with the producer.

  • We conduct an initial soil sampling and whole-farm assessment to establish baseline

  • We develop a carbon farm plan in conversation with the farmer(s) and help you identify multiple streams of funding to support the necessary changes

  • We raise funds through our platform and implement the regenerative land management systems

  • The resulting carbon-sequestering systems make you eligible to sell carbon credits on emerging farm-focused carbon marketplaces

Carbon Harvest addresses the challenges of a changing climate from the ground up
